On February 13, 2018, Maspeth High School's Upstanders were honored during Respect For All Week. Principal Khurshid Abdul Mutakabbir presented each of the Upstanders with a trophy to recognized their commitment to promote civility, inclusion and equality.

Maspeth High School's Unity Club hosted its annual Unity of Love Valentines Dance on Friday, February 9. Other MHS clubs lent a hand including the DJ Club providing the music, ArgoNotes selling delicious walking tacos, Future Doctors Club selling sweets, and the MHS Media Productions team documenting the event and running the photo booth.Uploaded Feb 11, 2018 to Unity Club
Chancellor's Conference Day took place Monday, January 29, 2018.
The day began with breakfast (Bagels, Donuts, Coffee) provided by the administration. The faculty conference included building updates and global Danielson feedback.
MHS staff signed up for teacher-led workshops while PSAL coaches attended an ACL workshop. Others attended Professional Development activities off-site.
Charles Rodriguez from the CUNY Affinity Support group led a workshop to answer all questions about TRAC (reimbursement for professional development conferences).
For lunch, some staffers signed up for floor hockey - it's always a lot of fun. The staff team shutout the student team 6-0 with Principal Abdul chalking up two assists!
