Maspeth High School English Department Presented "Education Tank" on October 24th and 25th
MHS students shared commercials about education products they created with Education "Sharks" who invested in student presentations
Students "pitched" their products to panels of Sharks (educators). Artistic components also supplemented their pitches.
In this MHS version of Shark Tank, educators used Rubrics to decide whether to invest in (grade) a product.
Students, like on the show, had opportunities to accept a grades/offers, listen to other offers/grades, or choose to not accept the offers.
Students also argued why they believed they deserve better grades.
Sharks raised their grades, lowered them, and in some cases took their offers off the table. The grades, in a sense, are the educators' investments in the students' presentations.
