Economics

This course is designed to teach students basic economic concepts and develop critical-thinking skills that students will use in decision-making in their own lives.  Students will answer basic economic questions like “What a country produces and why?” to “How does the United States economy function?” Students will also learn the real-world functions of economics and how the semester-long course will have an impact on them as soon as they graduate high school (or how it has already had an impact on their lives).  They will master an understanding of the basic economic questions, comparative world economic systems, and how those systems meet basic human needs. The goal is to give students an overview of how economics impacts various facets of life, and provide some of the tools they will need to become responsible participants in our national and world economies.
